The last couple of days have been relatively "lighter" days with respect to training. When I woke up Monday morning I was absolutely spent. Took that day completely off. Yesterday was just a 1hr40min bike with 30 minutes at tempo in there. Legs didn't feel quite recovered so I ditched the rest of my workouts and took it easy. It gave both Mel and I a chance to run a few errands which included picking up my race wheels from Bow Cycle. Dropped them off on the weekend to get trued. I can't wait to give them a go in Canmore.
The next couple of days I'll start easing back into training mode in time to race hard on Saturday. After that I'll keep going hard for several more days before starting to taper for the Calgary 70.3 Show!
If anyone is interested, I'm doing a 110km ride this Sunday and could use the company.
No recent developments on the couch front.
We bought a new laptop last week and finally have it setup again. Mel is happy to have her new work area completed. She is off to Halifax next week to do some more contract work for her old employer.
Our Vegas trip is about a month away and I'm getting excited. I need to learn some gambling lingo/games before I go so I can at least try something while I'm there.
Other than that, same old same old
Start the week off Right!

oooooh, you need to go rent casino and watch all the seaons of CSI. then you will be totally up on all the lingo!! LOL. you sound like you are ready to be a machine at Calgary 70.3! Suhweeet.
Mike bought this book when we went to Vegas - I forget what it's called, but they sell them all over the place there -- it helps teach you about 21 -- is that what the game is called?
Anyways, apparently the real money to be made is at cards...Mike spent HOURS at the different tables and even talked about how he left when a table got "cold." Hahahaha!!
He watched some crazy high rollers too -- at Treasure Island, this guy was betting so much money, the hotel staff gave him a voucher for an escort. Vegas is so classy, eh?
At one point, Mike won so much money he had a few $1000 chips -- he carried them around with him for a while, but ended up losing it all by the end of the trip. Hahahahaha!!
ENJOY, Shannon!!
By the way -- I am starting to do my research into race wheels -- what do you use/recommend/advise pour moi? Putting my feelers out there you know?
I could never gamble at Vegas. The industry is a machine designed to vacuum money out of your pockets. All of it, down to the small change. Did you know the people in the industry have a name for anyone they see twice? Loser. Have fun. Sorry to be such a downer. I hear they have good shows.
Lets see how we feel the morning after Canmore then talk about the ride.
