My schedule called for a 12km run yesterday. The first 7km were at a steady-state pace with the last 5kms at pace between my 5km and 10km pace. I opted to do the workout in the evening, so as soon as I got home after biking from work I changed into my running gear and took off. Despite feeling a little tired, from lack of sleep, I still managed to kick out a solid effort and totally surprised myself. I was so close to bailing on the workout and just flailing onto the couch. However I convinced myself to just get out and run for 10 minutes and see how that felt. Glad I did.
This morning I skipped on biking to/from work to rest a bit and so I got a ride from Mel. What a treat...even stopped into Tim's on the way down!

Sometimes all you need to do is turn off that nattering voice in the brain, eh? :) :0
Glad to see you hit the run, rather than the couch. You need to build up a calorie deficit so there's a place to put all the sushi.
good going!
I have been reflecting back on one of your posts Julie about "shutting off the brain" sometimes and not think about the process or outcome...just get out there.
