I really haven't been up to much over the past week. Been to the gym a couple of times to do some strength training and that is about it. I don't have a plan for a training at the moment nor any races picked out for next year although I am keen on visiting Sask next summer and doing a race there. One of my life goals is to do a race in each province and territory in our country.
Last Sunday/Monday I made the homemade bread I was itching to make back in October. 10 loaves of the white stuff on Sunday and a smaller batch of the raisin-spice variety on Monday on my EDO. Posted a pic of my hard work on my facebook account for those of you on there.
My knee seems to be healing nicely - tempted to run on it now but are trying to hold off until at least the Christmas break. During that time I hope to get out for a few easy runs in time before my January Running Blitz! The JRB involves running every day, for at least 30 minutes, during the month of January. Nothing too extravagant but I thought I'd add a twist to kick-start training in the New Year.
Been doing a lot of reading, and re-reading, of my training magazines, articles, online sites, and books. I am looking for some new things to try out in my training routine next year...especially in the off-season. Gleemed a few items I'm keen on giving a go.
This weekend I have back-to-back Christmas parties which is going to be super fun.
Other then that, life is grand!

If you ever find a tri in the Northwest Territories, I'll totally go with you!! Hee-hee!!!
Still thinking of how awesome that bread must have been...:) :) :)
Hey, if you need a race for Manitoba here's two of the best. And they aren't as flat as you'd think. I think I've done every manitoba tri.
http://www.mordentriathlon.com/home/results This is an old old half iron, they claim oldest in Can. Not sure i'd go that far, but I do know it's really old. Was a IMC qualifier for the longest time. Done this half twice and I still want to go back and do it, so if you sign up please let me know!!
http://rmtri.com/ This olympic is in the most beautiful area ever. The swim can be cold and rough, apparently very deep. Not flat either, although no huge hills but rolling. Still my oly pb, but that year the swim was short. Awesome race, and the little town/resort of Wasagami(spelling?) really nice vacation spot.
Oh this one's good too oly again.
http://www.triple-threat-tri.ca/tri-du.html This has been the course for the oly nationals as well as the Pan-american games. Really fast course. It's all in a park on smooth roads, at least they used to be. This is where Simon Whitfield burst onto the scene and beat Mark Bates for his first National championship and later third at Pan-Am. behind Gilberto Gonzalez and Hunter Kemper. Sorry rambling here.
Hey - honestly we never ignored you!! After the 10.5 hour drive in the snow and ice we got to the camp and were already an hour behind. The next day we were having issues getting the car down the iced hills in the residential areas and arrived at swim late but managed to get taped. Then there was the catching up on sleep thing and of course, the rider game and then we were gone!! I am planning on doing some spring trips to Calgary to hit some hills so when I come on my own time I will definately make sure to let you folks know since we all need to eat dinner anyway!!!
Good to hear that you are resting.
And honestly, if you'd met Jenna without any warning, you'd have been frightened. She had a wild look in her eyes.
Jenna, if you want to ride the hills south or west of town, or the famous Road to Nepal, you're welcome to stay here.
I love the idea of the January Running challenge. I might have to join in on that!
Sask is the only place to race...the best is the fank dunn tri in Prince albert national park! See you there!
